Marketing Manager (East Africa)

Sinapis is seeking a Marketing Manager (East Africa) to lead the development and execution of our integrated marketing strategy across Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. This senior role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement and is designed for a high-capacity leader who can drive results while building long-term brand equity across diverse markets.

As department lead, you will shape and implement multi-market strategies that elevate Sinapis’ visibility, deepen engagement with both entrepreneurs and donors, and reinforce our brand as a trusted voice in faith-driven entrepreneurship. You’ll serve as a bridge between our global and local teams, leading cross-functional initiatives, guiding regional marketing staff, and contributing to organizational decisions.

Sinapis is a Christian nonprofit that equips entrepreneurs to grow companies that change the world. Our mission is to make disciples and alleviate poverty through the power of entrepreneurship. We work in emerging and frontier markets to help entrepreneurs build Kingdom-minded businesses that create social, spiritual, and environmental impact in their communities.

To date, we’ve trained over 10,000 entrepreneurs across 14 countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, and Brazil. As we continue to expand, we are focused on building a best-in-class faith-driven entrepreneurship ecosystem in East Africa while equipping global partners with our training programs, toolkits, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional marketing strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with global brand direction and local market dynamics.

  • Manage and mentor a regional marketing team and creative partners, fostering professional development and high performance.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive messaging, strong program alignment, and an integrated customer experience.

  • Own regional storytelling strategy, guiding story development, creative direction, and content production to showcase the transformative impact of our entrepreneurs.

  • Design and lead market research efforts, translating insights into actionable messaging and campaign strategy.

  • Develop Sinapis’ earned media and PR footprint, establishing relationships with media outlets, influencers, and ecosystem partners.

  • Ensure marketing efforts are data-informed, analyzing performance and optimizing for greater engagement and return on investment.

  • Represent Sinapis at ecosystem events and forums, strengthening partnerships and expanding the organization’s voice in regional and international conversations.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strategic marketer and people leader with 7+ years of experience, including team management and cross-regional or multicultural marketing.

  • Deep understanding of the East African entrepreneurial landscape, especially Nairobi’s ecosystem.

  • Demonstrated success in campaign development, content strategy, brand building, and audience engagement —across both entrepreneurial and donor segments.

  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a lean, fast-moving environment.

  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with a portfolio of content or campaigns that reflect impact, authenticity, and creativity.

  • A passion for faith-driven, purpose-led work and a desire to use marketing to advance God’s Kingdom through entrepreneurship.

  • A humble, adaptable team player with high emotional intelligence, strong character, and demonstrated integrity—willing to go beyond the job description when needed.

  • A creative storyteller and skilled communicator with strong writing, editing, and narrative development skills, plus sharp attention to tone and detail.

  • A market-savvy leader with proven experience in market research and public relations, capable of turning insights into actionable campaigns and media strategies.

  • A relational connector with deep ties to Nairobi’s entrepreneurship and business landscape, and strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

  • A culturally attuned brand builder who understands regional trends, networks, and how to contextualize messaging across diverse East African audiences.

Qualifications

  • Above all, a committed follower of Christ with a growing personal relationship with Jesus and a strong heart for Sinapis’ mission, desiring to glorify God and alleviate poverty through purpose-driven marketing.

  • 7+ years of relevant marketing experience, ideally in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or impact-driven environment

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree (required); a Master’s in a relevant field is a plus.

  • Proficient in tools like Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva, Hubspot, and familiar with key social media platforms.
